I saw a wonderful cartoon yesterday, addressing the current jokes about global warming, and I really wish I could find it again to share with you. The image was of a ship, like the Titanic, with the bow pointing almost straight down; half of it already underwater. The stern was sticking up in the air and on top was the figure of a man.

The text read something like “Science says we’re sinking. They’re crazy! I’m 200 feet up!”

With much of the continent I call home getting endless snow storms, my little corner is 200 feet up. As I walked around town yesterday people were mowing their lawns and washing their cars – not typical February activities.

There was a common theme in the conversations I had with everybody else wandering around.

The 8th annual VWBPE conference starts 18th-21st March and the event will be happening on the VWBPE regions in Second Life. The theme is Crossroads this year and here are the deadline targets set by the VWBPE 2015 organizers, see below.

Latest VWBPE 2015 Updates

  • The VWBPE 2015 calendar is now live – see here for times, dates and info
  • Exhibit submissions extended until 27th February 2015
  • Post-conference VWBPE Virtual World Explorations submissions have to be received by 27th February 2015.
  • The Thinkerer Award – deadline for nominations is 1st March 2015
  • Registration is still open – attendance is free this year for SL/OpenSim platforms

Kayden Oconnell comes to Second Life™ with over thirty years of experience in real world theater.  He is also a published playwright and a member of the Dramatists Guild of America.  He has worked in commercial radio and done voice-over work for a number of clients.  As a resident of Second Life™ for over two years, he has continued to use those skills in performing in this virtual world and working for commercial clients in preparing films.  In Second Life™ he is experienced and confident in the use of avatar movement, appearance and voicing.
